B3 stock exchange launches options on bitcoin, ether and solana futures

Brazil's B3 stock exchange has launched options on bitcoin, ether, and solana futures, expanding its regulated crypto derivatives offerings. The contracts became available for trading on July 6 and include call and put options on bitcoin futures denominated in Brazilian reais, while ether and solana futures are denominated in U.S. dollars. The options settle into the underlying futures contracts rather than the tokens themselves, and B3 stated that the products do not involve custody, transfer, or administration of spot cryptoassets. Trading hours for the contracts are from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. local time. Exercise is automatic at expiration if the option finishes in the money, unless the holder blocks exercise. This offering provides traders and asset managers with a local venue to hedge crypto exposure, trade volatility, and build structured positions without relying on offshore crypto options markets. The launch adds to B3's efforts in regulated crypto products, following its introduction of bitcoin options and ether and solana futures.
